Tools for T-shaped skills, or Tools for T, is all about educating VET students to become a T-Shaped professional. T-shaped professionals have the ability to combine theoretical and practical knowledge and can see where their field overlaps with other knowledge areas. They can extend their competences across different functional disciplines and thereby create new knowledge. Innovation always takes place at the interface of disciplines. The profile of the T-shaped professional is the answer to multidisciplinary cooperation and innovative problem-solving.

Challenge
VET students often struggle to develop a well-rounded skill set that blends both theoretical and practical knowledge across multiple disciplines. Traditional education systems focus on deep specialization within one field, leaving students unprepared to collaborate in multidisciplinary environments and address complex, innovative challenges.
Solution
The Tools 4 T project created a learning platform specifically designed to foster T-shaped skills in VET students. By offering resources that encourage the development of both depth in a specific field and the ability to collaborate across disciplines, the platform equips students with the skills necessary for multidisciplinary cooperation and innovative problem-solving.
Results
Through the Tools 4 T project, both VET students and teachers successfully developed T-shaped social citizenship skills. These skills not only enhanced their ability to integrate theoretical and practical knowledge across various disciplines but also empowered them to engage more effectively in collaborative, socially responsible innovation. This holistic approach strengthened their capacity to contribute to both their professional fields and broader societal challenges.
