
The Digi-Tour-Skills project, funded by Erasmus+ and supported by the European Commission, aimed to upskill the tourism sector’s workforce, especially in SMEs, DMOs, and tourism agencies. The project addressed the digital skills gap, heightened by the pandemic, by offering webinars and a digital platform with practical case studies. This initiative helped reduce the costs of software acquisition, updates, and staff training, empowering adult learners to adapt to the digital demands of the tourism industry.

Challenge
The tourism sector, hit hard by the pandemic, faces a workforce with low digital qualifications. SMEs and tourism agencies struggle with the high costs of adopting new digital tools, making it difficult to stay competitive in a digitalized market.
Solution
The Digi-Tour-Skills project created a digital learning platform and organized webinars to upskill tourism professionals. Led by Mathemagenesis, the program incorporated practical case studies, offering affordable, accessible training in areas like AI in tourism, digital marketing, and customer services.
Results
The project is expected to complete in 2026 by delivering 10 webinars, training over 200 adults, and developing a digital platform for ongoing learning. Participants will gain essential digital skills, helping tourism SMEs and agencies will adapt to the digital economy while minimizing training and software costs.
